Conventions: I got back from the Shoujocon not too long ago (july 14/15) and I can freely say I was disappointed. I had a blast last year, when it was a fairly small con of 500 strong. However, this year, it went a bit over 1500 I believe, quite a leap. First, the hotel screwed up my reserved room, then some workshops I had already pre-registered were full or they didn't have enough materials for everyone. Two workshops I signed for ended up scheduled at the same time!! I had to cancel one and go for another, which was fun (Cel painting). I also encountered a few...>_< baddies...there too. last year's con had a silly amount of polite, wonderful people. I believe that's what made me enjoy the con so much, but after a few encounters with a few people this year, I was strongly discouraged. I did start to have a bit more fun when I hung out in the artist gallery with my friends and whatnot. XD They eased the first rough day and lifted my mood, thank the gods. O_o; The con wasn't terrible or anything, don't get me wrong. They had lots of events and stuffs, but it didn't go well for me. I'm debating on whether I should go to the shoujocon next year, but I know I'll definitely be at Otakon 2002. O_o I think that's enough complaining and junks, so I'll be off on my merry way.
