First, let me introduce myself in more detail. My name is Miguel Gervais and I am a 24 year-old Assistant English Teacher here at Fukaya Junior High School. Originally, I am from Ottawa, in Canada. I graduated from Ottawa University in Nursing and soon after came over to Japan. I enjoy tennis, kendo, cycling and sight-seeing.
Fukaya is a town of 100,000 people located in Saitama Prefecture, some 70 kilometers North of Tokyo. The weather goes from 40 degrees in the summer to -1 or so in the winter. Fukaya is famous for its green leeks and for tulips. As the students discuss the town in more detail in their own homepages, I will direct you to them if you wish to know more about this beautiful city.
