Fukaya Junior High School is the biggest Junior High School in Fukaya. Its students excell in many areas. This year, one tennis doubles` team from our school went to the prefectural tournaments. The boys` basketball team also made it to the prefectural meet as did a number of competitors from other sports.

In the fall, Miki, who wrote the introductory page of this website, went to the regional English speech-contest where she performed very well.

More recently, the students at this school entered a computer-graphics competition held by the city. Some of the students won awards for their beautiful work.

Finally, the school lunch here has also won an award of excellence from Monbusho, the ministry of education, sports and culture.

All of these are indications of the quality of life and teachings at Fukaya Junior High school... but these prizes are just that: indications. The truth is, this school has a spirit about it that is in itself very pleasant. That is why I think the school does so well in so many areas; the people in it make the school what it is.
