T'ai Chi Chuan

Tai Chi Chuan is an ancient Chinese martial art with a rich heritage stretching over 700 years. It is an art form designed to help prolong and enrich life through meditative coordinated movement. The Tai Chi form is performed slowly and emphasizes correct body alignment and posture to improve health and boost energy. Tai Chi Chuan is far more than a set of movements; the slow rhythm and meditative mental state are a perfect solution to relieve stress and revitalize lost energy. Coordinated movement is performed slowly, emphasizing correct body alignment and posture, and providing an increased awareness of controlled movement and balance.

The style of Tai Chi taught is a traditional Yang long form. This form consist of 108 moves, and can take from twenty minutes to one hour to perform. Tai Chi is generally done slowly to enhance awareness of controlled movement and center of balance. The slow movement helps bring on a meditative state which builds Chi, or Qi (life force) and builds it throughout the body to revitalize the body and bring on a youthful glow.
