Differential in use as an adder-subtractor Download the MLCAD *.dat here. Once again, the blue gears are the inputs and the red gears MUST not be attached to the 40t gears. This relies on the 8t gears being able to float. This is one solution of how to use this in an adder-subtractor. Shorten the two axels on the side that has the steering axel. The other two are the outputs (of course). The instructions on how to assemble the differential are on my differential page. | ||||||||
Here is the finished product. See? It's big and ugly, but it works and doesn't eat up a differential box. Of course, I did run out of 40t gears for a minute. | ||||||||
