Reservations & info: (805) 962-7776.[2] Sunday, August 12th, 2:00 PM at Peter Strauss Ranch, Agoura, CA. A free show, sponsored by the National Park Service.To get to Peter Strauss Ranch: Take the Ventura Freeway (101) to Kanan Road exit. Go south on Kanan Road 2.8 miles to Troutdale Road. Turn left on Troutdale Road to Mulholland Highway. Turn left on Mulholland Highway then right under the arch into the parking lot. Walk back across the bridge on Mulholland Highway and enter the main gate into the ranch. Free Parking. Visitors are encouraged to come early, bring a picnic lunch and lounge in comfort on the 21,000 square foot lawn while waiting for the music to begin. The ranch is an historic site, and features a shaded outdoor amphitheater for shows.Peter's band, "The Very Lonesome Boys", includes Peter on mandolin, bassist Tom Lee and guitarist Mike Nadolson, with the banjo duties being performed by multi-instrumentalist David West. Tom and David are known for their work with the progressive bluegrass group, "The Cache Valley Drifters" while Fiddlin' Tommy Marton, a former student of Byron Berline's, hails from the Texas contest fiddling tradition. Mike Nadolson, a fine singer and guitarist, heads Tricopolis Records in Lake Elsinore. Peter has been performing and presenting bluegrass and related musics in California and Nevada since the early 1960's, and is known as the founder of the Santa Barbara Old Time Fiddler's Convention and the original Bluebird Cafe‚ in Santa Barbara.
