NEO GAS TOURING CAR

Neo Gas Car

front viewThis is the Neo 1/10th scale gas touring car with full time 4 wheel drive configuration. It comes with everything you need (e.g. tuned pipe, ball bearings, graphite chassis, car body, ball differentials, aluminum shock absorbers) but you will need to supply the engine, radio controller, glow plug igniter and fuel. This car is made in Taiwan.

Although the kit came with high quality parts, it was very difficult to build because the parts had a very tight fit with each other. The manual was not very helpful.

Out of the box the car was almost perfect. It handled very well and was very quick with an OS CV engine.

OS CV engineI bought this car with the intention of racing it in the 1rst Neo Gas Touring Car competition (Philippines, 1999). Having only a few days from buying the kit to the day of the competition, confidence in winning was not very high because I have never driven the car, much less fine tune the setup.

neoIn any event I was fortunate enough to win the contest, considering radio interference caused the car to crash full speed into a concrete wall twice! The muffler came off, there were two broken mag wheels, but the car still managed to finish the final two laps to win. An attribute to how reliable the car is.

Overall the Neo is not only a very fun car, it is a true racing car. It does give a lot of value for your money.
