HOW TO...

Notes when painting with Oekaki BBS Painter:

• Adjust the brush and pen size with the up and down triangles.
  
• If you accidentally hit CLEAR, just hit the UNDO button.
  
• You can magnify your drawing (for more detailed drawing/editing) by selecting the magnification [x8, x6, x4, x2].
  You can only save with the magnification OFF (x1).
• The SLIDE function works only in x1. Simply click anywhere in the drawing field and move the mouse in the desired direction.
  In any other magnification, use the scroll bars at the top and left of the canvas.
• You can customize your colors by adjusting the Red, Green, and Blue sliders or clicking the up/down arrows at the right.
• Check out this link for a convenient list of colors.
• To select a color from your picture, click on COLOR PICK UP and then click on the desired color within the picture.
• You can also use the right mouse button or [Ctrl + Left Click] to select a color.
  
• Right-clicking on a color palette square allows you to save a color to that square.
• To draw or paint half tone colors (convenient for shading), select from the BRUSH setting [1/2, 1/4, 3/4].
  
• After clicking on MASK, select the color you want to mask by clicking on it in your drawing. When MASK is active, the chosen color will not be over-painted when you draw.
  
• Do not slide picture or save picture when masking.
  (The MASK function might have a problem with Internet Explorer)
  

• You will get to submit a comment about your picture after clicking on SAVE.
• Clicking SAVE brings up a dialogue box.
  If you are using Netscape, you're likely to see a question in Japanese (Hozon shimasu ka?) asking if you want to save. (IE doesn't seem to recognize Japanese fonts.)
  Click OK to save; CANCEL to return to your drawing.
• Your picture will be submitted to the BBS.
• You will then be able to submit comments about your own drawing.
• Anyone can submit comments about your drawing on the BBS.

• If you are using a Machintosh, please use Internet Explorer 5 or higher. Older versions have problems displaying and saving pictures.
• If you are using Windows and have trouble with colors, try setting colors from True Color to High Color. Or try Netscape instead of IE.
  

• Please do not draw or write anything that others may find offensive.
  In other words, draw and comment in good taste.
  Breezi reserves the right to remove any drawings or comments as she so chooses. So play nice. ^,~
• Please refrain from posting absurdly simplistic drawings.
  Not to say your drawings must be outstanding masterpieces or anything, but please try to submit more than just a single line or even worse, a blank canvas.
• Submit as many drawings as you'd like! ^v^
• In Breezi's opinion, the drawings on the BBS are public property, so feel free to save any drawings you see that you like. (Right-click...Save Image/Picture As...)
  They're all in png format, however.
