As of August 1998 the majority of the patrol
fleet are Chevy Luminas. Three of our cars are Ford Crown Victorias.
Needless to say, the Chevy Caprice is missed.

Though this is a bit hard to see, a bear rests
in this tree in the University District. Missoula is located in the heart
of nature. Occassionally the two cross paths. It is the duty
of law enforcement to see that both public safety and the needs of wildlife
are kept in balance. No officer wants to see harm come to either.
-
Montana Fish and Game with the assistance of MPD and University Police tranquilize the bear in order to move him back to his habitat, away from harms way.
This
bear is ready for a ride home with MT F&G.
